Temporary Nurse Aide- Nebraska



Since the onset of COVID hit all of us in 2020, we've been experiencing challenging times. Many in essential jobs are working tirelessly to cover the increasing needs. Together will overcome this challenge through our love and compassion for one another and supporting each other in many ways.

One way to support and help is by becoming a Temporary Nurse Aide and join the Perkins County Health Services family.

As of July 19, 2021, the federal government extended the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, reinstating an approved program where you may take a few simple steps to be eligible to work in our long term care nursing facility as a Temporary Nurse Aide.

• Complete a Free 8-hour online course which may be complete on your own time at home

• Pass the exam upon completion of the course; fill out an application with Perkins County Health Services/Golden Our Convalescent home; present the certification at interview**

• Complete a competency assessment at the facility, where you will demonstrate the required skills under the observation of an RN, who will review and sign-off.

To continue employment after the expiration of the waiver program, an employee with have 120 days to complete the full 76 hour Certified Nursing Assistant program to continue working. PCHS/Golden Ours will assist with achieving the full Certified Nursing Assistant license.
